— Marty Rutberg
Martin Rutberg and Richard Greenblatt, Personal Injury Lawyers in New York
In the third decade of his successful career, Martin Rutberg founded the personal injury law firm of Rutberg & Associates in 1999 with the single goal of helping injured people and their families. Given the fine reputations and 60 years combined experience of the firm's core personal injury lawyers, the firm was immediately recognized as an established and respected member of the legal and business communities of Poughkeepsie, the Hudson Valley region including the counties of Westchester, Putnam, Orange, Dutchess, Ulster, and elsewhere throughout the state of New York.
In order to better serve the firm's many clients in the Catskill region, Mr. Rutberg soon expanded
the firm to include offices at Monticello, where the firm's regional counsel add an additional 50
years of combined experience to the firm's resources. With increased caseload in the Albany and upstate
area, the firm plans new offices in the Capitol District.
At Rutberg & Associates, our personal injury lawyers, medical malpractice and product liability
lawyers help injured people and their families across the fine state of New York. If you have been
injured by the negligence of others, please contact our home office in Poughkeepsie or our Catskill
regional office. We will fight on your behalf for the compensation you deserve.
Attorney Profiles

The founder of Rutberg & Associates, P.C., Marty Rutberg is a passionate, tactful attorney with over 28 years of experience in personal injury law. Mr. Rutberg relocated his practice from New York City to the Hudson Valley in 1982, as he became singularly focused on the needs of injured people. He came to believe that accident and malpractice victims are best served by a law firm representing only injured people. On the strength of his convictions, he withdrew from his partnership with one of the region’s oldest and largest general practice firms to create Rutberg & Associates, a firm whose medical malpractice lawyers, personal injury and product liability lawyers are dedicated to the legal rights of injured people.
Mr. Rutberg has been married for 27 years and has two wonderful children. A dedicated backpacker, canoe traveler and gardener, he is generally found outdoors when he is not at the office or in court.

As the firm's Senior Staff Counsel, Richard Greenblatt adds great intellectual prowess and 26 years of experience to the firm's arsenal. His extensive professional history began in 1978, when he graduated J.D. Cum Laude from Brooklyn Law School and was admitted to practice in New York.
Talented in legal scholarship as well as advocacy, Mr. Greenblatt worked in areas including legal ethics, civil rights, rights of the accused and family law during the first two decades of his service. But he returned to the representation of injured people time and again.
When Rutberg & Associates opened in 1999, Richard Greenblatt was the head of his own firm. Determined to include Richard on his team of seasoned professionals, Mr. Rutberg extended an offer that he could not refuse—the opportunity to focus on personal injury law and nothing else. The rest is history. Richard Greenblatt is a valuable asset of Rutberg & Associates, proudly serving victims of personal injury throughout New York.
